The holiday season simply cannot start until you have a deliciously festive drink in your hands. Try whipping up these plant-based holiday drinks to warm you up on those chilly winter evenings or to share with your loved ones while you celebrate.
Ingredients
- Vegan Hot Chocolate :
- 3 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½ Tbsp coconut sugar (or to taste)
- 2 chopped bars of Vega® Maca Chocolate
- Hot Apple Cider :
- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- ¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- Zest of one orange, cut into strips
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole cloves
- Cheesecloth and kitchen twine
- Veg Nog :
- 1 ripe frozen banana
- 1 serving Vanilla Chai Vega One®
- 2 cups coconut milk (or non-dairy beverage of your choice)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg + 1 pinch for garnish
Preparation

Vegan Hot Chocolate
- Add almond milk to a small sauce pot and bring to a simmer over low/medium heat
- Add in cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla extract and coconut sugar and stir until combined
- Remove the almond milk mixture from heat and whisk in the Vega Maca Chocolate until fully melted and combined
- Serve immediately

Hot Apple Cider
- Add all ingredients to a medium sauce pot
- Tie the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange zest into a bundle using a square of cheese cloth and kitchen twine. Add bundle to the apple cider mixture.
- Bring the cider to a simmer over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes
- Remove the spice bundle from the pot, and serve immediately

- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until well combined. Pour into two glasses and top with a pinch of cinnamon.
