#AskVega: Why are Two Versions of Packaging Available for Purchase?

Have a question we haven’t answered yet? Post using #AskVega and we’ll get right to it!

If you’ve shopped for Vega® Protein & Greens or Vega® Protein Smoothie on MyVega.com or in store recently you may have faced down two versions of packaging. No, you’re not seeing things. The version on the right is the new version of packaging, and we’re pretty excited about this new look. We’ve been getting a lot of questions about these changes so wanted to answer them for you right away.

Packaging Changes for the Better

As part of our pursuit of better, we are constantly improving our products, our packaging, our processes. In March 2018 we updated the packaging for Vega Protein & Greens and Vega Protein Smoothie. That’s the one on the right up above. You’ll now see the lime green sticker with “New look & great new taste” on the front, so you know you’re looking at the newest version. We love this fresh new look. Besides the aesthetics, we removed the hemp protein and it has a new taste and texture we think you’ll love.

Why Am I Seeing Two Versions of Packaging in One Place?

Whether you’re on MyVega.com or in store you may still see both versions until Fall 2018. This is because of variations in stock level of our last round of packaging. So each flavor and size will transition at different rates. For MyVega.com, the packaging you see when you select a flavor and size is what will be shipped to you.  If you’re standing in store and want to try the new taste, be sure to grab the one with the lime green “New look & great new taste” call out

Why is the Nutrition Information Different on the New Packaging?

Labels for all our products are reviewed regularly as part of an ongoing Quality Assurance program to ensure that we are accurately conveying the nutrients in our products.  We made incremental changes to the taste and texture, as well as removed the hemp protein, which resulted in small changes to the nutrition facts panel. The nutrition information you see for the flavor and size you are looking for on MyVega.com is the most recent and up-to-date information.

The next big round of packaging changes is coming up to the Nutrition Facts Panel for 2020. Stay tuned! In the meantime, how about a decadent Banoffee Smoothie with either tub of Vega® Protein & Greens?
