An exciting and challenging position exists as a Director, eCommerce. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution for Vega’s growing ecommerce business across all channels in the US & Canada – eTailers/PurePlay (ex. Amazon), Delivery Networks, Bricks + Clicks (ex. Target.com) and Direct to Consumer. Vega is seeking a strategic leader with inspiring thought leadership, strong business acumen, cross-functional collaboration and a passion for ecommerce. You will need strong knowledge and experience in both Sales and Marketing to drive both sales and marketing KPI’s and levers.  Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will work closely with the Marketing team to accelerate the strategic ecommerce business.


  • Lead all aspects of Vega’s ecommerce business, including strategizing, planning, developing and executing content plans, promotion plans and campaigns and monitoring analytics
  • Develop short and long-term strategy for Vega’s online business
  • Oversee the Account Manager for Amazon US/Canada and other etailers (ex. Vitacost, iHerb, Vitasave)
  • Oversee and speak to the sales forecast for all ecommerce channels in monthly and weekly sales forecast meetings
  • Work with other Sales Directors to develop complementary strategies
  • Take responsibility for final plans, contracts and negotiations with customers
  • Lead best in class practices to accelerate performance on Bricks + Clicks, working closely with Sales Team
  • Oversee the Vega website and the Direct to Consumer business – with strategic input on the user experience and drive sales and marketing KPI’s such as traffic, conversion, AOV, LTV, CPA
  • Work very closely with the rest of Marketing team to understand and improve the path to purchase – Media Manager, Shopper Marketing, Brand, Social Media Manager, etc
  • Develop and manage efficient practices for content management (working closely with cross functional counterparts in Marketing, IT, Operations)
  • Provide strategic input into Product Innovation
  • Champion ecommerce’s unique needs and what it will take to drive the business forward
  • Manage internal stakeholders – results, requests and expectations
  • Work with Danone counterparts to share best practices and find resource efficiency across shared tools and platforms
  • Provide leadership, innovation and process optimization initiatives such as implementing ecommerce software solutions and other best practices
  • Develop the right mix of in-house vs agency experience; manage the relationships with all agencies


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Business Administration
  • 10+ years’ experience in Marketing and eCommerce
  • Prior experience in CPG a plus
  • Extensive experience in eCommerce channel sales and strategy development required
  • Key accounts management experience
  • Highly knowledgeable about Digital Marketing tools such as SEM, SEO, email, social media
  • Expertise in web production, site operations, UI/UX, features and functionalities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning, and task delegation across internal + external partners
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results
  • Experience developing annual and long-term strategic plans
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience leading and managing key agency relationship(s)
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven leader with experience managing teams of 8-10 people and execution of large scale eCommerce projects
