Associate Supply Chain Finance Manager

Overview

An exciting and challenging position exists as an Associate Supply Chain Finance Manager at Vega.  Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing a forecasting framework for cost of goods sold, other production costs and logistics costs. As a Finance business partner, you will build the forecasting framework to ensure alignment between operations and sales planning and provide analytical support to fulfill forecasting, planning and reporting requirements. You will lead the monthly cost review to procurement, production and logistics teams and actively consult with in-house plant on latest production forecast, budget revisions, R&O and productivities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who will bring 5-8 years of progressive Supply Chain Finance experience to the team, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial modelling.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting and reporting

  • Establish forecasting framework for cost of goods sold, other production costs and logistics costs
  • Ensure established forecasting framework includes alignment between operations and sales planning
  • Provide analytical support to fulfill forecasting, planning and reporting requirements
  • Provide month-end variance commentaries for volume, mix and rate variances in each cost components
  • Responsible for month-end and forecast inputs on cogs related items, including magnitude submissions
  • Provide updates on inventory, cashflow and USD exposure impacts
  • Owner of capex reporting and analysis
  • Tracking of risks and opportunities in material and logistics costs

Business partnering support

  • Lead monthly cost review to procurement, production and logistics teams
  • Actively consult with in-house plant on latest production forecast, budget revisions, R&O and productivities
  • Assist Operations with budget development by, providing historical data, quantifying impacts of various programs/changes, running what if scenarios, making recommendations on full year numbers as well as monthly spreads
  • Assist with the review, documentation and update of annual standard costs
  • Assist in the evaluation of new product standard costs
  • Quantify annual cost roll impact to financials based on pricing changes at Co-man and material inflation/deflation
  • Assist in identifying and tracking cost savings initiatives
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibilities

Operational excellence

  • Provide full scope of costing analyses from product BOM to customer delivery
  • Implement controls on margin sensitivity, inventory and cashflow/ fx impact
  • Provide additional analyses including and not limited to quantification of savings potential, sourcing strategy and should-cost models

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required. CPA and or MBA preferred
  • 5-8 years of progressive financial analysis experience required
  • Experience working in a CPG environment
  • Experience in Supply Chain Finance, preferably with costing at a plant
  • Knowledge and experience building COGS at Standard and analyzing COGS variances
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams including Procurement to drive productivity through negotiation and reformulation
  • Experience collaborating with and presenting to all management levels within the company, and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build relationships
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint along
  • Experience in financial modeling
  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting tools and optimization software preferred
  • Full understanding of Accounting principles and COGS at Standard
  • High intellectual curiosity and passion for continuous learning
  • Results-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills required
  • Ability to think independently and influence decision making processes
  • Ability to influence peers and senior leadership and recognize opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies
